Rosehill Dance Academy Principle - Miss Fern

I started dancing at the age of 3 where I achieved NATD tap examinations up to Gold medal, and Distinction in all my Graded RAD Ballet exams (Grades 1-8) as well achieving up to Advanced 1 in Vocational exams. I have also choreographed many performances for a variety of dance schools during my teaching and performing career. I attended Stratford- Upon-Avon College, where I studied a BTEC Dance Diploma and then furthered my dance education at Falmouth University, studying BA (Hons) Dance Performance, graduating in 2014. I also taught Ballet, Tap, Contemporary and Jazz at Latham School of Dance and Cashmore School of Dance.

I have performed in many shows such as; pantomimes at The Palace Theatre, The Nutcracker, playing the role of Clara, with Ballet creations, the Pink Fairy and Blue Bird in Sleeping beauty with Rutleigh Norris Ballet School, the lead role Coppeila, with Ruteligh Norris and A curtain raiser for Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake.

I am also a SEN teacher as a full time job.

Dance Teacher -Josephine

Josephine has been dancing since the age of 9, starting with NATD tap completing all exams and medals with distinctions, which set off her love of dancing!

She furthered this with RAD ballet, completing grades 1-8 with distinction and also Advanced Foundation and Advanced vocational exams. She was a member of the Birmingham Contemporary Company for two years but tap has always been her passion.

Josephine has been lucky enough to teach all grades and adult classes with the Cashmore school of Dance, Elite performing arts and also choreographed for school shows.

She has now achieved her Associate in National tap with NATD and now a fully qualified tap teacher.

Student Teacher - Katie-Mae

Katie-Mae has been dancing since the age of 3 where she achieved her NATD Tap exams up to Grade 4. She is currently working at a Nursery School and is planning to go to University in September to study Primary Education.

Katie is also part of our Elite girls here at Rosehill Dance Academy, and dances with us on a Wednesday evening!

Student Teacher - Tayla Penny-Gardener

I have been dancing for 17 years and in this time I have gained experience in Tap, Ballet, Freestyle, Jazz, Commercial, Contemporary and Lyrical. I have taken IDTA exams in tap, ballet and freestyle and had lessons as part of the Royal Ballet Dance Xchange.

I have been lucky to perform at Chance2Dance in various locations and Disneyland Paris with Jayne Franklin’s School of Dance. I have received D*/D*/D in my Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts Dance at Birmingham Ormiston Academy (BOA).

I have also had 3.5 years of musical theatre training where I had the chance to sing with Keith Jack and Kerry Ellis. I took part in summer schools and workshops where I met and learnt from many different West End stars including Ashley J Russel, Loula Geater, Aj Powell and CiCi Howells.

Within this time I also helped to teach the younger classes the disciplines of acting, singing and dancing. I also dance with the Elite girls on a Wednesday evening.
